Job summary

Wellpath / Correct Care Solutions is seeking a Physician for the Eastern Region Float (PRN). The role centers on assessing and treating patients in correctional or clinical settings, with autonomy and a supportive team environment and opportunities for professional growth.

The position involves supervising ARNPs, coordinating outside referrals, and performing minor procedures while educating patients and families. Some travel may be required depending on facility needs.

Qualifications

• Medical doctorate (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university
• Two (2) years post-residency clinical experience in an outpatient/inpatient setting
• Psychiatric experience preferred
• Licensed in the state of employment
• Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and applicable certifications
• Board certified or eligible in internal or family medicine

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical health through examinations and diagnostic procedures
• Provide and oversee documentation, outside referrals, consultations, and follow-ups
• Offer clinical oversight and support to ARNPs, including care provision and documentation review
• Perform minor medical procedures such as sutures, IV placement, and lumbar puncture
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff and provide education to patients and families
