Job summary

Wellpath is seeking a part-time Physician to provide primary care in a correctional setting at the Fresno facility. The role emphasizes comprehensive patient care, coordination with a multidisciplinary team, and adherence to safety and clinical guidelines.

The physician will conduct exams, manage chronic diseases, and educate patients while meeting licensure and DEA requirements. This position is based on-site in Fresno County Jail on a day shift.

Qualifications

• Medical doctorate (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university.
• Two (2) years post-residency clinical experience in an outpatient/inpatient setting.
• Board certified or eligible in internal or family medicine.
• Licensed in the state of employment and DEA certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical health through examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• Provide and oversee documentation, outside referrals, consultations, and follow-ups.
• Perform minor medical procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff and provide education to patients and families.
