Odyssey Locums is seeking a Gastroenterologist to join a busy Internal Medicine clinic in Richlands, VA. The assignment features Endoscopy and clinic coverage with flexible scheduling and a focus on high-quality patient care.

You will handle night calls, perform endoscopic procedures, and collaborate with 2 RNs, a PA/NP, and support staff. VA license is required, credentialing is estimated at 30 days, and housing/travel are provided.

Qualifications

• Credentialing within about 30 days.
• Experience in endoscopy and clinical coverage desired.

The Role:

• Location: Richlands, VA 24641
• Assignment duration: ASAP - Ongoing
• Coverage Type: Clinic + Call
• Procedures and clinic schedule; endoscopy suite coverage Monday, Wednesday, half Thursdays and Friday; clinic on Tuesdays and half Thursdays. Hours may vary.
• Night call every night and round on any patient consults in the hospital
• Patient encounters per shift: 20-25.
• Cases: Endoscopy and clinic coverage. Required procedures include upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, injection of varices), PEG placement, esophageal dilatation, small bowel biopsy, lower GI endoscopy, flexible (required) and rigid (preferred) sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy (with biopsy and polypectomy).
• ERCP and EUS not required.
• Support Staff: 2 RNs, 1 PA/NP, 1 MA, 1 Office Staff
• EMR: Athena & Meditech
• Requirements: VA License
• Credentialing Timeframe: 30 days
