Vail Health in the Vail Valley is seeking an Internal Medicine physician to join Colorado Mountain Medical. You will provide comprehensive care to adult patients, with focus on prevention, diagnosis and management of conditions.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of directly related experience, which may include residency in a related medical specialty.
  • Degree from an accredited program.
  • Professional licensure - M.D. or D.O.
  • Current Colorado license in good standing, required.
  • Federal DEA certification; Medical Specialty license or certification; Board certified or Board eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain medical staff office credentialing and privileges required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment for adults.
  • Prescribes medications and treatment regimens appropriate to conditions and promotes preventive care.
  • Offers health and wellness guidance including diet, activity, hygiene, and prevention.
  • Monitors progress, re-evaluates treatments, and explains procedures and results to patients.
  • Refers patients to specialists and coordinates care with other teams.
  • May manage operations of a medical program or unit and supervise staff as needed.

We are looking for an Internal Medicine physician, ideally with 2 or more years of experience to join Colorado Mountain Medical. In this role, you will provide comprehensive care to adult patients, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of health conditions. As an integral part of our clinic, you will deliver patient-centered care, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and promote health and wellness within the community. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing chronic conditions, performing routine check-ups, and providing personalized treatment plans to optimize patient health outcomes.

What you will do:
  • Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population.
  • Prescribes or administers pharmaceuticals, other medications, immunizations, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
  • Provides health and wellness advice to patients, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Monitors patients' conditions and progress, re-evaluating treatments, and explains procedures and test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
  • Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
  • May manage the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function.
  • Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  • As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.
