Job summary

Vail Health seeks an Internal Medicine physician with 2+ years of experience to join Colorado Mountain Medical. You will deliver comprehensive adult care, focusing on prevention, diagnosis, and management of diverse health conditions in a patient-centered clinic setting.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage chronic conditions, and create personalized treatment plans, contributing to health equity and high-quality care in the community.

Qualifications

• 3 years of directly related experience (experience may include residency in related specialty).
• MD or DO degree from an accredited program.
• Professional licensure – MD or DO.
• Current Colorado medical license in good standing.
• Federal DEA certification; Medical Specialty license or cert; Board certified or board eligible in specified area.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including physical exams, evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment for adult patients.
• Prescribe medications, vaccines, and treatment regimens as appropriate.
• Provide health and wellness guidance on diet, activity, hygiene, and prevention.
• Monitor patient progress, re-evaluate treatments, explain results to patients.
• Refer patients to specialists and relevant care components as needed.
• May manage daily operations of a medical program or care unit.
• Coordinate patient care with nursing and support staff; adhere to policies and quality standards.
• Participate in health promotion, education, and prevention programs as appropriate.

We are looking for an Internal Medicine physician, ideally with 2 or more years of experience to join Colorado Mountain Medical. In this role, you will provide comprehensive care to adult patients, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of health conditions. As an integral part of our clinic, you will deliver patient-centered care, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and promote health and wellness within the community. Qualifications and Skills:

• 3 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty.
• Degree from an accredited program
• Professional licensure - M.D. or D.O.
• Current Colorado license in good standing, required
• Federal DEA certification; Medical Specialty license or certification; Board certified or Board eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty required
• Ability to obtain and maintain medical staff office credentialing and privileges required

What you will do:

• Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population.
• Prescribes or administers pharmaceuticals, other medications, immunizations, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
• Provides health and wellness advice to patients, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
• Monitors patients’ conditions and progress, re-evaluating treatments, and explains procedures and test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
• Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
• May manage the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function.
• Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
• Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
• As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per year.
