Job summary

Vail Health in Avon, Colorado seeks a board-certified dermatologist to join our team. The role focuses on comprehensive dermatologic services as an independent provider with opportunities to champion service line growth.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, diagnostics, and treatment planning, with potential daily program management duties. Requires MD/DO and board cert. Competitive compensation reflects experience and education in a premier mountain health system.

Qualifications

  • Board certification or eligibility in dermatology and/or dermatopathology.
  • Medical doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with 3–5 years of directly related experience (may include residency).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care including examinations, evaluations, diagnoses and treatments.
  • Prescribe or administer medications and immunizations as appropriate.
  • Offer health and wellness guidance on diet, activity, hygiene and prevention.
  • Monitor patient progress and discuss results and treatments with patients.
  • Refer patients to specialists and other care components as needed.
  • May manage daily operations of a medical program or care unit.
  • Coordinate care with nursing and support staff; ensure adherence to policies and safety standards.
  • Participate in health promotion and prevention programs as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and maintain HIPAA compliance.

Vail Health-Colorado Mountain Medical is seeking a board-certified dermatologist to join our team in beautiful Avon, Colorado.

The ideal candidate should have experience in general dermatology, with an interest in championing service line growth.

About the opportunity

Provides comprehensive dermatologic services functioning as an independent healthcare provider.

What you will do
  • Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population.
  • Prescribes or administers pharmaceuticals, other medications, immunizations, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
  • Provides health and wellness advice to patients, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Monitors patients' conditions and progress, re-evaluating treatments, and explains procedures and test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
  • Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
  • May manage the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function.
  • Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  • As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

  • Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

What you will need
Experience
  • Board certification or eligibility in dermatology and/or dermatopathology
  • Medical doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty.

  • Federal DEA Certification: Medical Specialty License or Certification, Board Certified or Board eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty
