SUMMARY OF POSITION

Responsible for providing assistance with various health care services, obtaining specimens, conducting routine lab studies, and assisting with administrative functions such as coordinating patient flow, scheduling appointments, and handling phone messages. The role includes rooming patients, collecting vitals, performing point‑of‑care testing, phlebotomy, administering vaccines, and assisting with minor in‑house procedures. Chart preparation and other administrative duties are also required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have or obtain certification or registration through a Penn State Health approved agency for Medical Assistants within 90 days of employment, or be currently a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS certification within 6 months of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  • Previous outpatient experience preferred.
