Job summary

Barton Associates is seeking an Advanced Gastroenterologist for a 7-day assignment in Texas starting October 15, 2026. The role includes a 24-hour call schedule from 7 AM to 7 AM and performing a range of complex GI procedures.

Responsibilities include colonoscopies, inpatient consults, EUS, liver biopsies, and other endoscopic duties as needed. Travel-related expenses are covered, and A-rated malpractice insurance is provided.

Qualifications

• Board certification in Gastroenterology is required.
• Experience with advanced GI procedures is a plus.
• Proficiency with Epic EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled colonoscopies.
• Visit and manage inpatient consults.
• Conduct small bowel biopsies.
• Perform lower GI endoscopy.
• Conduct sigmoidoscopy (flexible & rigid).
• Perform colonoscopy with biopsy or polyp excision.

Our client in Texas is actively seeking an Advanced Gastroenterologist for a 7-day assignment beginning Oct 15, 2026. This role involves a 24-hour call schedule from 7 AM to 7 AM, where the Physician will primarily perform scheduled colonoscopies, manage inpatient consults from the previous night, and handle a variety of complex gastrointestinal procedures including small bowel biopsies, lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, flexible and rigid colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), and liver biopsies.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform scheduled colonoscopies.
• Visit and manage inpatient consults.
• Conduct small bowel biopsies.
• Perform lower GI endoscopy.
• Conduct sigmoidoscopy, both flexible and rigid.
• Perform colonoscopy, including procedures with biopsy or excision of polyps.
• Execute endoscopic ultrasound (EUS).
• Perform liver biopsies.
