Position Overview

ChristianaCare, the largest healthcare system in Delaware, is seeking a Physician Executive to serve as the Chair of OB/GYN & OB/GYN Service Line Leader. This role involves broad authority and accountability for quality, value-based outcomes, workforce stability, financial vitality, and strategic direction of clinical services within the OB/GYN Service Line across the health system, supporting system strategy, operational performance, and organizational goals.

Qualifications
  • Medical Doctorate Degree: M.D. or D.O.
  • Board certification in applicable specialty or subspecialty.
  • Minimum five years of clinical practice experience.
  • At least seven years of progressively responsible clinical leadership experience, including managing physicians.
  • Experience in clinical research, including trials, projects, and publications.
  • Experience in developing advanced medical education programs.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Delaware.
  • MBA or master's in healthcare administration preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  • Enhance women's health through innovative care approaches, advancing health equity and preparedness initiatives, and leveraging caregiver expertise.
  • Ensure high engagement, satisfaction, and retention of clinicians.
  • Partner with operations to ensure efficient practice management and ambulatory success.
  • Recruit and maintain a diverse workforce reflecting the community.
  • Drive strategic growth of clinical services aligned with organizational goals.
  • Establish and support service line goals, quality, safety, and value outcomes.
  • Foster collaboration with nursing, operational, and shared service leaders.
  • Build relationships with independent clinicians and coordinate with other Chief Physicians.
  • Supervise all members of the OB/GYN Service Line.
