The Department of Emergency Medicine at WVU School of Medicine in Bridgeport, WV is seeking academic Emergency Medicine physicians at the ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. The department offers diverse practice locations across its clinical sites.
Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent), be eligible for an unrestricted WV medical license, and have completed an accredited Emergency Medicine residency. Faculty rank and salary depend on credentials and experience. WVU offers a competitive recruitment package.
The department maintains a thriving clinical practice, including WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, United Hospital Center, St. Joseph's Hospital, two WVU Urgent Care centers, WVU Student Health, WVU International Travel Clinic, and an internal locum tenens practice. It hosts a residency program, a state-of-the-art ultrasound fellowship, and sections in emergency medicine services, pediatric emergency medicine, and sports medicine, with fellowships in the latter two. Our team includes over 80 faculty and physicians, 30 residents, and several fellows engaged in research on topics like stroke, traumatic brain injury, emergency services, event medicine, tactical medicine, disaster planning, medical education, population health, telemedicine, domestic partner violence, and point-of-care ultrasound.
