Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso invites applications for a full-time, open-rank Clinician Medical Educator in the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine.

The role emphasizes integrating clinical reasoning with scientific knowledge throughout the pre-clerkship curriculum. The successful candidate will lead medical education in clinical skills, simulation, and assessment, while maintaining active clinical practice and contributing to scholarship and governance.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
• ACGME-accredited residency training.
• Medical license or eligibility for medical licensure in Texas.
• Board certification by an ABMS member board corresponding to residency.
• Established record of clinical practice and medical teaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide faculty leadership in clinical science, clinical reasoning and clinical skills education across the pre-clerkship curriculum.
• Lead and participate in Medical Skills curriculum including medical interviewing, history-taking, physical examination, communication, presentation and clinical documentation.
• Engage in formative and summative assessment activities (OSCEs, case-based assessment, rubrics) and data-driven improvement.
• Mentor medical students and other instructors; participate in faculty development and course/director roles as needed.
