SHaPE serves governments, donors, healthcare payors/providers, and NGOs on topics including health, public finance, education, defense, and economic development.

This role is within McKinsey’s Clinical and Risk Excellence (CARE) Domain, which enhances impact and analytics rigor through clinical expertise, transforming lives via new capabilities for value-based care. You will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, clinician leaders, and client teams across healthcare stakeholders.

Your Impact

You will participate in client engagements focused on healthcare value, developing clinical policy improvements and innovative payment models to make healthcare more accessible and affordable. You will advise on evidence-based medicine, clinical practice, and policies, and represent the CARE team publicly through conferences and publications.

You will work in teams of 3-5 consultants, engaging in information gathering, hypothesis testing, and developing recommendations, with opportunities to present and implement solutions. This role suits clinicians aiming to grow in healthcare business acumen.

Your Qualifications and Skills

• Clinician (MD/DO/RN) with clinical experience
• Preferred experience in nephrology, women’s health, or oncology
• Experience in population health metrics and healthcare outcomes
• Ability to influence senior clinical leaders (e.g., CMOs)
