Summary

This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until December 8, 2025. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applicants is May 18, 2025, with subsequent cut-off dates every two weeks. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur until the position is filled.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met the initial appointment requirements are considered to have met the basic requirements.

Basic Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may be appointed if qualified citizens are unavailable, per VA policy.
• Degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an approved school.
• Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• Completed residency training approved by the VA, leading to eligibility for board certification. Approved residencies include ACGME, AOA, or other recognized programs with five years of practice in the U.S.
• Residents in accredited programs are eligible as Physician Resident Providers, which are appointed on an intermittent or fee basis, and are not considered independent practitioners.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Physical ability to perform hospital duties, including lifting, reaching, standing, and vision requirements.
