Summary

Orlando VA Healthcare System's Specialty Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Cardiologist. Ideal applicants are those who want to contribute to the achievement of quality care standards as well as the growth and development of a VA academic hospital program. You must be an excellent communicator and team player who is adaptable to the needs of a growing medical center.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or license requirements may be considered tentatively but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Currently employed VA physicians who met the initial qualification standards are deemed to have met the basic requirements.

Basic Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed if qualified citizens are unavailable)
• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an approved school
• Full, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S.
• Completed residency training in Cardiology approved by the VA
• Residents enrolled in approved programs may be appointed as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs)
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Preferred: Five or more years of experience in Non-Invasive Cardiology, Board-certified
• Physical requirements include light lifting, standing, walking, and visual and auditory capabilities

Duties

• This is an open continuous announcement; applications are accepted ongoing and referred weekly until filled.
