Job Opportunity: Non-Invasive Cardiologist at Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center

The Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center is seeking a full-time Non-Invasive Cardiologist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients at the VA hospital in Spokane, WA.

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan repayment initiative. Please see the 'Duties' section below for more details.

Duties

The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with all staff. Responsibilities include providing comprehensive medical and specialty services for outpatients, diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with cardiovascular disease according to standard techniques and guidelines. Services include outpatient and inpatient cardiology consultations and ongoing patient management in both settings. The role involves attending Medicine Service meetings, participating in other medical center meetings, serving on committees, engaging in quality assurance programs, and assisting the facility in meeting established performance measures. Additional duties include chart reviews, coordinating patient care with Hospitalists, and ensuring timely documentation of patient data in electronic medical records.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing outpatient and inpatient cardiology services
  • Participating in medical staff meetings and committees
  • Engaging in quality assurance and performance improvement activities
  • Performing chart reviews and coordinating with Hospitalists
  • Maintaining timely documentation in electronic health records
Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following basic and additional requirements:

Basic Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be considered under specific conditions)
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an approved medical school
  • Current, unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
  • Completed residency training in an accredited program leading to eligibility for board certification
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
Additional Requirements:
  • Board eligibility or certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine is required

Physical Requirements

Light lifting and carrying (under 15 pounds), pushing, reaching above shoulder, use of fingers, both hands required, walking, standing, both legs required, ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination, near vision correctable to Jaeger 1-4, depth perception, ability to distinguish basic colors, hearing (aid permitted).
