Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient consults with time blocked in clinic days.

• Provide telephonic after-hours call coverage for hospitalists.
• Collaborate with support staff including APP and Medical Assistant.
• Operate in a solo MD coverage model.
• Maintain current BLS certification and board certifications.
• Document in Epic EMR for all procedures and notes.
• Adhere to compliance, documentation and credentialing requirements.

Job Title: Cardiologist
Location: Centralia, Illinois
Schedule: 8:00AM - 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension.
Pay Rate: $232 - $250/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Cardiologist for a temporary assignment in Centralia, Illinois. These positions are 13-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a Cardiologist:

• Work Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week with clinic hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday through Thursday schedule may be considered if needed)
• Perform inpatient consults, with time blocked in each clinic day; typically averaging 1-3 consults per day
• Provide telephonic after-hours call coverage for hospitalist inquiries regarding potential admissions and consult determinations
• Read EKGs and Echocardiograms
• Supervise stress testing
• Manage general cardiology patients including those with CAD, HTN, and Heart Failure
• Provide care for adult patient populations
• Utilize Epic EMR system for all documentation and charting
• Collaborate with support staff including 1 APP (2 days per week) and Medical Assistant
• Operate in a solo MD coverage model
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Maintain required board certifications
• Communicate call burden feedback after initial rotations to allow for schedule adjustments as needed
• Ensure CV is submitted in mm/yy-mm/yy format with explanations for any work history gaps over 30 days
• Adhere to all compliance, documentation, and credentialing requirements
