Responsibilities include echocardiography/ECG interpretation, pacemaker management, and IVUS with stent placement, with documentation in Epic EMR. Competitive hourly pay and extension potential are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of interventional cardiology experience.
• Board-certified interventional cardiologist with relevant fellowship credentials.
• Experience with invasive cardiology procedures under STEMI protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite coverage from 7:00 to 16:00 with 24-hour STEMI call coverage.
• Perform inpatient rounding and manage 3–5 daily consults.
• Read Echos and EKGs for unassigned patients.
• Perform right and left heart catheterization with ventriculography and angiography.
• Place and manage temporary pacemakers as needed.
• Perform PTCA, DCA, atherectomy, and angioplasty; stent placement.
• Utilize IVUS and coronary imaging as part of procedures.
• Document all care in Epic EMR.

Job Title: Interventional Cardiologist
Location: Mount Vernon, IL
Schedule: 6:00AM - 6:00AM x 1
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension.
Pay Rate: $425 - $430/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Interventional Cardiologist for a temporary assignment in Mount Vernon, IL. These positions are 13-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a Interventional Cardiologist:

• Provide onsite coverage from 0700-1600 with 24-hour STEMI call coverage
• Perform rounding on inpatients as part of daily responsibilities
• Manage 3-5 inpatient consults per day, plus any procedural cases derived from those consults
• Read Echos and EKGs for unassigned patients
• Take and respond to STEMI call coverage
• Work collaboratively with RNs in the cardiac catheterization laboratory
• Perform right and left heart catheterization including ventriculography and angiography
• Place and manage temporary pacemakers as needed
• Perform PTCA, DCA, TEC atherectomy, rotational atherectomy, and angiojet thrombectomy
• Perform intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and coronary stent procedures
• Perform endomyocardial biopsy
• Perform peripheral angiogram, peripheral atherectomy, peripheral stent, and peripheral vessel angioplasty
• Perform transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)
• Utilize Impella and integrated ultrasound devices
• Utilize Epic EMR for all clinical documentation
• Maintain board certification and required fellowship credentials
• Maintain valid state licensure (IMLC/Compact licensure accepted)
• Maintain current ACLS certification
• Comply with COVID-19 vaccination requirements (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Maintain a minimum of 2 years of interventional cardiology experience
