Job summary

Aya Locums has an immediate opening in Centralia, IL for a locum Cardiology physician. Start Date: 11-02-26, Length: 13 weeks.

Schedule: 5 days, 8-hour shifts from 08:00 to 16:30 with on-call coverage. You will provide comprehensive cardiac care in inpatient and outpatient settings, perform EKGs, echocardiograms, and stress tests, interpret studies and help plan treatments, collaborating with nurses, surgeons and specialists.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Residency in internal medicine (ACGME or AOA) completed.
• Fellowship training in cardiology may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiac care to inpatients and outpatients.
• Perform diagnostic procedures: EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests.
• Interpret diagnostic tests and develop treatment plans for cardiovascular conditions.
• Perform cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures (if subspecialty allows).
• Educate and counsel patients on heart disease prevention and lifestyle.
• Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and specialists for coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate medical records for patients.
• Stay updated on cardiology advancements.
