MaineHealth Neurosurgery & Spine is recruiting an experienced Physician Assistant to support inpatient care at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. The PA will work night shifts, assist on neurosurgical cases, and provide medical management for inpatients across adult and pediatric populations.

Join a team of 12 surgeons and 17 APPs delivering ER consultations, admissions, and daily rounds in a premier Level 1 Trauma Center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Successful completion of accredited Physician Associate/Physician Assistant program.
• Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure; NCCPA certification required for PA.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• See both adult and pediatric patient populations in inpatient neurosurgery and spine.
• Participate in ER consultations, hospital admissions, and daily rounds.
• First assist on neurosurgical cases and provide medical management for in-patients.
• Collaborate with 12 surgeons and 17 APPs to support surgical and inpatient services.

APP – Physician Associate/Physician Assistant MaineHealth Neurosurgery & Spine Portland, ME Inpatient MaineHealth Neurosurgery and Spine is recruiting for an experienced Physician Associate/Physician Assistant (PA) with the ability to see both adult and pediatric patient populationsto practice at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. This is an opportunity to join our well-respected team in the Neurosurgery group supporting 12 Surgeons and working alongside 17 Advance Practice Providers (APPs) providing surgical, emergency, and in-patient care and services including ER consultations, hospital admissions, first assisting on Neurosurgical cases, and medical management of in-patients with daily rounds. Primary inpatient responsibilities are at Maine Medical Center, the state's leading tertiary care hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center. Maine Medical Center has 637 licensed beds, a full complement of residencies and fellowships, and is an integral part of Tufts University Medical School.

These are 13 hour night shifts averaging 40 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Successful completion of accredited Physician Associate/Physician Assistant.
• Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure. Certification of Physician Associate/Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required for PA's.
• Current BLS certification.

• The pay range for this position is $143,038 to $185,108 annually based on the candidate’s level of experience.
