MaineHealth Neurosurgery & Spine in Portland, ME is recruiting an experienced Physician Associate/Physician Assistant to care for adult and pediatric patients at Maine Medical Center. This role supports 12 surgeons and works alongside 17 APPs, providing surgical assistance, emergency coverage, inpatient care and daily rounds.

Maine Medical Center is a Level 1 Trauma Center with 637 beds and is affiliated with Tufts University Medical School.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Accredited Physician Associate/Physician Assistant program completion.
• Current Maine license or eligibility for licensure; NCCPA certification required for PA.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient responsibilities include ER consultations, hospital admissions, first assisting on neurosurgical cases, and medical management of in-patients with daily rounds.
• Collaborate with 12 Neurosurgery Surgeons and 17 APPs to coordinate patient care and outcomes in a busy service.

MaineHealth Neurosurgery and Spine is recruiting for an experienced Physician Associate/Physician Assistant (PA) with the ability to see both adult and pediatric patient populations to practice at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. This is an opportunity to join our well-respected team in the Neurosurgery group supporting 12 Surgeons and working alongside 17 Advance Practice Providers (APPs) providing surgical, emergency, and in-patient care and services including ER consultations, hospital admissions, first assisting on Neurosurgical cases, and medical management of in-patients with daily rounds.

Primary inpatient responsibilities are at Maine Medical Center, the state's leading tertiary care hospitaland Level 1 Trauma Center. Maine Medical Center has 637 licensed beds, a full complement of residencies and fellowships, and is an integral part of Tufts University Medical School.

These are 13 hour night shifts averaging 40 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Successful completion of accredited Physician Associate/Physician Assistant.
• Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure. CertificationofPhysician Associate/PhysicianAssistants (NCCPA)requiredfor PA's.
• Current BLS certification.

This position offers:

• The pay range for this position is $143,038 to $185,108 annually based on the candidate’s level of experience.
