MaineHealth Neurosurgery and Spine is recruiting an experienced Physician Associate/Physician Assistant (PA) with the ability to see both adult and pediatric populations to practice at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Successful completion of accredited Physician Associate/Physician Assistant program.
• Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure; NCCPA certification required for PA's.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• See both adult and pediatric populations in inpatient neurosurgery care.
• Provide inpatient and surgical care including ER consultations, hospital admissions, first assisting on neurosurgical cases, and daily rounds.

MaineHealth Neurosurgery and Spine is recruiting for an experienced Physician Associate/Physician Assistant (PA) with the ability to see both adult and pediatric populations to practice at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. This is an opportunity to join our well-respected team in the Neurosurgery group supporting 12 Surgeons and working alongside 17 Advance Practice Providers (APPs) providing surgical, emergency, and in-patient care and services including ER consultations, hospital admissions, first assisting on Neurosurgical cases, and medical management of in-patients with daily rounds.

Primary inpatient responsibilities are at Maine Medical Center, the state's leading tertiary care hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center. Maine Medical Center has 637 licensed beds, a full complement of residencies and fellowships, and is an integral part of Tufts University Medical School.

This position is budgeted as a 1.0 FTE (40 hours) position, and is typically worked in three 13-hour shifts per week, averaging 39 hours weekly.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Successful completion of accredited Physician Associate/Physician Assistant.
• Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure. Certification of Physician Associate/Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required for PA's.
• Current BLS certification.

• The pay range for this position is $ $143,038 to $185,108 annually based on the candidate’s level of experience.
