Job summary

Peachtree Immediate Care in Solomons, MD is hiring a part-time Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner for urgent care. You’ll manage walk-ins, perform urgent care procedures, and provide patient education in a fast-paced clinic setting.

Qualifications include MD license or eligibility, FNP/PA-C certification, and 2+ years of experience with BLS/ACLS. Competitive hourly pay with a $10k sign-on bonus and favorable schedules are offered.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Maryland license or eligibility for FNP/PA.
• Current certification as FNP or PA-C.
• Minimum two years of clinical experience as FNP/PA-C.
• Active DEA registration.
• BLS and ACLS certifications current.
• Ability to perform urgent care procedures (suturing, wound care).
• Ability to interpret X-rays and other tests independently.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication and patient-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage episodic and chronic conditions for walk-ins and same-day appointments for ages 2+.
• Perform physicals (sports, DOT, pre-employment, annual).
• Evaluate workers' compensation injuries.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses/injuries.
• Perform suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, wound care.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests including X-rays, labs, and 12-lead EKGs.
• Prescribe medications per Maryland regulations and clinic protocols.
• Educate patients/families on diagnoses, treatment plans, meds, follow-up.
• Document encounters accurately and efficiently.
• Collaborate with clinical/operational teams for high-quality care.

• Flexible work schedules set 3 months in advance, noon-call, and limited weekends.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ordering and independently interpreting diagnostic tests, including X-rays, laboratory work, and 12-lead EKGs
• Prescribing medications and therapies in accordance with Maryland regulations and clinic protocols
• Educating patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
• Accurately and efficiently documenting patient encounters
• Collaborating with clinical and operational team members to provide a convenient, caring, and high-quality patient experience

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted Maryland Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license, or eligibility to obtain one
• Current certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• At least two years of clinical experience as an FNP or PA-C
• Active DEA registration, or ability to obtain one
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to perform common urgent care procedures, including suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound care
• Ability to independently interpret X-rays and other diagnostic test results
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient-service skills

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, primary care, family medicine, or internal medicine
• Experience practicing in a fast-paced or high-volume clinical environment
