Job summary

Physician Assistant Medical Specialty at Baylor Scott & White Health delivers direct patient care under physician supervision and has prescriptive authority. The role includes working in specialty clinics such as Cardiology, Oncology, or Neurology, and may involve inpatient or procedural duties.

Qualifications

• Education: graduate of an accredited PA program.
• Active Texas PA license and NCCPA certification.
• Less than 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical and mental condition of patients through examinations and histories.
• Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe or recommend medical therapies and procedures, following protocols.
• Formulate and implement comprehensive treatment plans with physicians and team.
• Counsel patients and families on medical processes, medications, nutrition, and health promotion.
• Maintain accurate records of treatment plans and outcomes and coordinate referrals when needed.
• Provide consultation for conditions related to the specialty and training.
• Manage patients in settings beyond primary clinics (inpatient, ER, procedures).
• Perform invasive procedures within scope of practice as delegated by supervising physician.
