Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Physician Assistant for specialty clinics. The role provides direct patient care with prescriptive authority, credentialing, and independent billing under physician supervision.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients, ordering tests, developing treatment plans, counseling on medications and lifestyle, and coordinating care across multidisciplinary teams. Texas license and NCCPA certification are required.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas
• Current NCCPA certification
• Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire or transfer

Responsibilities

• Assesses the physical and mental condition of patients and takes medical histories.
• Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory tests and other diagnostics.
• Prescribes or recommends medical therapies and performs procedures per approved protocols.
• Formulates treatment plans and evaluates patient responses to care.
• Counsels patients and families about medical processes, medications, nutrition, and health promotion.
• Maintains records detailing treatment plans and outcomes and initiates referrals as needed.
• Provides consultation for conditions related to the provider’s specialty and training.
• Manages patients in settings beyond primary clinics as required.
