Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide direct patient care in specialty clinics. The role emphasizes independent practice with supervising physician collaboration and prescriptive authority.

The Advanced Practice Provider will work in a specialty clinic setting, handling exams, orders, and treatment plans while counseling patients and families on care options and health promotion.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current TX PA license and NCCPA certification.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Experience: Less than 1 year.
• Experience in a healthcare specialty clinic is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical and mental condition via exams and medical histories.
• Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe or recommend therapies; perform procedures per approved protocols.
• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans with physicians and teams.
• Counsel patients and families about medical processes, medications, and health promotion.
• Maintain treatment records and initiate timely referrals when needed.
• Provide consultation for conditions related to the specialty.
• Manage patients in settings beyond primary clinic (inpatient, ED, etc.).
• Perform invasive procedures within scope and delegated by supervising physician.
• May cover additional shifts as needed.
