Position: Physician Assistant for Radiation Oncology

Location: City of Hope, Duarte

The Physician Assistant functions as part of a care team, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive patient care. The role involves independent and collaborative medical management of a defined patient population, following standardized procedures and in collaboration with a physician supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide primary, secondary, and in some cases, tertiary care within scope of practice, licensure, and organizational policies.
2. Perform histories, physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and furnish appropriate treatments and medications efficiently.
3. Conduct accurate, concise, and relevant history and physical assessments.
4. Document consultations and patient notes thoroughly.
5. Perform routine procedures as granted through privileges.
6. Manage follow-up patients independently, including ordering imaging and providing medical care and support.
7. Interpret imaging results and communicate with physicians regarding patient progress.
8. Prescribe medications and counsel patients on narcotic safety.
9. Demonstrate pharmacologic knowledge regarding indications, contraindications, side effects, and interactions.
10. Review treatment plans with patients and families.
11. Practice evidence-based clinical care.
12. Instruct and counsel patients on health management, referring to specialists as needed.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a master's degree.
• 3-5 years of experience in Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, or Internal Medicine preferred.
• Current California Physician Assistant License.
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Current DEA registration.
• Salary range: $119,000 to $213,000, based on experience, qualifications, and location.
