Position: Physician Assistant - Surgical Oncology

City of Hope in Duarte is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our Surgical Oncology team. The Physician Assistant will work as part of a care team, collaborating with a multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive patient care. The role involves independent and collaborative medical management within standardized procedures, under the supervision of a physician.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide primary, secondary, and in some cases, tertiary care within scope of practice, licensure, and organizational policies.
2. Perform histories, physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and furnish medications and devices efficiently.
3. Conduct accurate and relevant history and physical assessments.
4. Document consultations and new patient notes.
5. Perform routine inpatient and outpatient procedures as authorized.
6. Manage follow-up patients independently, including ordering imaging and medications.
7. Interpret imaging results and communicate with physicians about patient changes.
8. Prescribe medications and counsel patients on narcotic safety.
9. Demonstrate pharmacologic knowledge regarding indications, contraindications, side effects, and interactions.
10. Review treatment plans with patients and families.
11. Practice evidence-based clinical care.
12. Instruct and counsel patients on healthcare management, including diet, medications, and mental health, referring to specialists as needed.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a master's degree.
• Oncology and First Assist experience preferred.
• Current California Physician Assistant License.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Current DEA registration.
• Salary range: $119,000 to $213,000, based on experience and qualifications.
