Job summary

Ortho Rhode Island is seeking a per diem Physician Assistant to join the Ortho RI Express team at the Warwick location. The PA will assess and treat urgent musculoskeletal injuries in an orthopedic urgent care setting, performing H&Ps for walk-in patients and providing in-office procedures as needed.

Responsibilities include ordering X-rays, documenting care, counseling patients on follow-up, and coordinating with an orthopedic surgeon as required.

Qualifications

• NCCPA certified
• Rhode Island PA license
• DEA license
• One year orthopedic or emergency room experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat urgent musculoskeletal injuries in orthopedic urgent care.
• Perform and document history and physicals for walk-in patients.
• Evaluate and treat injuries (sprains, strains, fractures, wounds) and manage post-op problems.
• Perform in-office procedures (cast/splint placements, wound care, infection management).
• Order X-rays and other diagnostic tests as needed.
• Maintain accurate charting and patient education; counsel on diagnosis and follow-up.
