Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care in Central Indiana is seeking a Physician Assistant to deliver a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages in urgent care settings. You will work with or independently of physicians, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating acute conditions while escalating when needed.

The role emphasizes independent practice in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on procedures, diagnostics, and patient education across pediatric and adult populations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed PA in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting.
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations.
• Comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, casting, and splinting.
• Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays.
• Master's degree from an accredited PA program and NCCPA Certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical exams and review patient histories.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies.
• Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medications.
• Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting.
• Document encounters and treatment plans in the EMR.
• Educate patients on care and prevention; administer vaccinations as needed.
• Refer patients to specialists when required; coordinate care with physicians.
• Work scheduled shifts of 4, 8, or 12 hours as assigned.

About the Role

As a Physician Assistant (PA) , you will provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages. You'll treat acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. You'll work independently or alongside a physician, using your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, while recognizing when to escalation care to emergency services.

Essential Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams and review patient medical histories


• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging


• Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medications


• Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting


• Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR


• Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention


• Administer vaccinations and refer patients to specialists as needed


• Work scheduled shifts of 4, 8, or 12 hours as assigned


• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed NP or PA in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting (required)


• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (required)


• Comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, casting, and splinting (required)


• Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays (required)

Physician Assistants:

• Master's degree from an accredited PA program (required)


• NCCPA Certification (required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems


• Multilingual communication skills
