The Advanced Heart Failure APP at Main Line Health provides evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with advanced heart failure in collaboration with attending physicians. The role emphasizes independent judgment, team communication, and delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.

Tuition reimbursement up to $6,000 per year is offered, with opportunities for professional growth across Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood and Riddle Hospital in Media.

Qualifications

• Two years of Cardiology experience required.
• MSN and PA/NP program completion required.
• PA or NP license in Pennsylvania required.
• Certification by NCCPA or CRNP is required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose and treat Advanced Heart Failure patients with attending physicians.
• Collaborate with the health care team to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Lead quality and evidence-based care initiatives for the unit.
• Assist in managing patients with VAD when applicable.

The Advanced Heart Failure APP is an advanced practice clinician who performs acts of evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in collaboration with attending physicians to manage the health outcomes of patients with Advanced Heart Failure. As an advanced practice provider this role involves independent judgment and decision-making as well as consultation and collaboration with other members of the health care team. The Advanced Heart Failure APP enhances the continuity of quality patient care; amplifies communication between the physician, family members, and the health care team; and extends the capabilities of the medical care team. This position is critical in leading quality and evidence-based care initiatives that will result in achieving optimal patient outcomes and improved patient satisfaction for the Advanced Heart Failure patient population.

Position:

Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Advanced Heart Failure

Shift:

Full Time, 40 hours/week. Monday - Friday 8 hour day shifts. No weekends or Holiday's

Experience:

1. Two (2) years' of Cardiology experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Required.

2. Advanced Heart Failure experience highly preferred.

3. VAD (Ventricular Assist Device) Coordinator experience highly preferred.

Education:

1. Completion of a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program required.

2. MSN required.

Licensures/Certifications:

1. Licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners as a Practitioner, or by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Education and Licensure.

2. Certification by the NCCPA (National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants) or (CRNP) Certified Registered Nurse

3. BLS certification required.

4. May require ACLS certification.

5. May require PALS (pediatric advanced life support)

6. Successful completion of the MLH credentialing process through the Medical Staff office, with temporary or permanent privileges approved.

This position requires you to wear a respirator as part of the job requirement.
