Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Physician Assistant for the Surgical Specialty - Non-Operative. The role entails direct patient care with delegated prescriptive authority across multiple surgical disciplines.

Licensed PAs provide care, work with supervising physicians, and support outpatient services. Responsibilities include exams, diagnostics, treatment planning, and patient counseling, with opportunities to manage care in various settings.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in Texas
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire
• NCCPA certification currently active

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical and mental condition of patients through exams and histories
• Order, collect, and interpret lab tests and other diagnostics
• Prescribe or recommend medications and treatments within scope
• Formulate and implement patient treatment plans with physician collaboration
• Counsel patients and families about medical processes, medications, and lifestyle
• Maintain complete records of treatment plans and outcomes
• Provide consultation for conditions related to the specialty
• Manage patients in inpatient, outpatient, or emergency settings
• Perform procedures within scope of practice as delegated by supervising physician
• Follow up with patients pre- and post-operatively or in hospital settings
