Job summary

ProMedica Physicians Hematology Oncology seeks a full-time Acute Care NP or PA to join the Hematology Oncology team at Flower Hospital. This role includes outpatient visits, inpatient rounds, and coordinated care with the oncologist.

Responsibilities cover tele-visits, transitions, patient education, and support for families. Applicants must hold the required advanced degree and acute care certification, and maintain licensure in OH/MI. Epic EMR familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold an MSN or DNP for NP applicants or a Master's degree for PA applicants.
• Acute Care Certification required for NP candidates; board certification as applicable.
• Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in Ohio and Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Complete outpatient visits and inpatient rounds with the rounding oncologist.
• Participate in tele-visits as needed and as appropriate.
• Collaborate on outpatient care transitions and support the outpatient team.
• Educate patients on diverse cancer treatment options and outcomes.
• Identify and treat health-related cancer conditions and provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Participate in cancer research and clinical trials as available.

Job Summary

ProMedica Physicians Group (PPG) is seeking to add a full-time Acute Care Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our ProMedica Physicians Hematology Oncology team.

• Complete outpatient visits and inpatient rounds to maintain collaboration on care with the rounding oncologist
• Participate in tele-visits as needed and as appropriate.
• Collaborate on outpatient care transitions as needed; support the outpatient team if/as needed.
• Provide education on diverse treatment options
• Identify and provide treatment for health-related conditions associated with cancer
• Offer emotional assistance to patients of cancer, as well as their families,
• Support research on cancer to improve treatment formalities apportioned to cancer patients
• Provide helpful resources on the patient and families to enhance positive results
• Incorporate patients and their families in the treatment plan, procedures and possible outcomes.
• Observe and record the patient's progress regularly
• Document care provided on patients including reactions to medication and treatment
• Rotating/shared weekend and call based on practice requirements
• Practice with team of motivated hematologist-oncologists, APP's, certified nurses & technologists in a supportive and collegial work environment
• Large referral base encompassing 27-counties throughout northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan
• Full range of consultative, inpatient and outpatient hematology and oncology services. Participation in industry sponsored and local community CCOP co-operative group clinical trials through NRG

Requirements

• Master of Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing (DNP) degree for Nurse Practitioner applicants.
• Acute Care Certification Required for Nurse Practitioner Candidates
• Master's degree for Physician Assistant applicants.
• Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in Ohio and Michigan
• Certificate of Authority to practice.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) certification(s) applicable to your role (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc.).
• Commitment to ongoing continuing medical education (CME) and professional development.
