Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a casual Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to support our TBI outpatient program. Current coverage needs are Tuesdays and Fridays during the day (8am-5pm, with some flexibility). This will be a temporary position to go through September 2026 (estimated).

In this role, it is necessary to demonstrate sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide care to patients suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Write prescriptions and make appropriate referrals
  • Collaborate with internal team members and external agencies to ensure effective care
  • Perform initial and ongoing assessment of patients' medical, functional and psychosocial status
  • Formulate differential diagnosis based on history, physical examination and diagnostic testing
  • Identify needs of the individual, family or community, and develop a plan of care and/or education plan
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current (or eligibility for) license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant in the State of Minnesota
Preferred Qualifications:
  • TBI-related patient care experience
  • Prior experience as an APP
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Function as both individual performer and team player

SALARY
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant pay is based on years since licensure and specialty area. The grid below represents current pay rates (rates adjusted annually in April) for this position:

7-9 Years $69.31
