Job summary

UW Health in Madison, Wisconsin is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to join our care teams. The role includes inpatient rounding with podiatrists, ED consults, and first assist in the OR, delivering high-quality, cost-effective podiatry care.

Candidates must hold a PA or NP degree, Wisconsin licensure, board certification, and DEA license eligibility. This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position with 7:00 am–3:30 pm schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from accredited PA Program.
• Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program.
• Active Wisconsin PA licensure.
• Active PA board certification.
• Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inpatient rounding with the podiatrists.
• Perform consults in the ED.
• First assist in the OR.
• Provide care to podiatry inpatients including bedside debridement, wound care plans, and discharge planning.

We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to:

• Conduct Inpatient rounding with the Podiatrists
• Perform consults in the ED
• First Assist in the OR
• Provide care to Podiatry patients while admitted to the hospital including bedside debridement, wound care plans, and discharge planning

Education

If Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from accredited PA Program.

If Nurse Practitioner: Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program

Licenses and Certifications

Minimum – State of Wisconsin PA licensure

Minimum – State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure

If Physician Assistant*:

• Active PA license, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
• Active PA board certification

If Nurse Practitioner*:

• Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
• Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice. These may include the following: Family, Acute or Primary Care NP

All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have*: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire
