Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our outpatient podiatry clinic as an Advanced Practice Provider. This 100% FTE position features a Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 am–5:00 pm) in an on-site, collaborative team with physicians, MAs and RNs.

Responsibilities include history and physicals, pre/post-operative evaluations, wound care and post-op follow-up, with opportunities to work with Vascular Surgery and Wound Care teams.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Wisconsin with prescriptive authority.
• Active board certification in area of clinical practice (PA-C or ARNP).
• DEA license or ability to obtain prior to hire.

• Perform H&P, pre/post-operative evaluations, and manage treatment plans.

As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients.

We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to:

• Provide comprehensive care to both well and ill patients in an outpatient podiatry clinic
• Work collaboratively within a team consisting of physicians, medical assistants, and RNs
• Perform history and physical, pre and post-operative evaluations, develop, manage and modify treatment plans.
• Serve patient populations of pathologic bunions, hammer toes, ingrown nails, heel pain, surgical patients and work collaboratively with Vascular Surgery and the Wound Care Team in caring for wound patients.
• Perform procedures such as; wound debridement, TCC placement, suture removal, cortisone injections, splint removal.
• See patients in follow-up for routine post-op care and manage complications related to surgery.

Education:
If Physician Assistant:Bachelor's or Master's degree from accredited PA Program.

If Nurse Practitioner:Master's or Doctorate's degree from accredited Nursing Program

Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum – State of Wisconsin PA licensure

Minimum – State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure

• Active PA license, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
• Active PA board certification
• Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
• Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice. These may include the following: Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Adult and RN First Assist.

All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have*: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire
