Job Summary

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for our Ambulatory Specialty Infusion Center to collaborate with medical, nursing, and pharmacy teams to provide direct patient care. Locations include Brier Creek and South Durham Infusion Centers, with the Duke Health Cary Place Clinic opening in August 2025.

Work hours are Monday-Friday, four days per week, starting at 7:40 am and ending when the clinic closes at 6 pm or the last patient is seen. The schedule may vary, with possible Saturday shifts every 8 weeks for additional pay. The APP will collaborate with team members and cover for absences as needed.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform triage, physical exams, data collection, order labs and consultations, prescribe interventions, coordinate care, and provide direct patient services in collaboration with attending physicians.
  • Analyze practice patterns to improve care quality and efficiency.
  • Communicate pertinent patient information to team members and healthcare providers.
  • Document all relevant data accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Update therapy plans and review orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Assist with order entry, review, and medication management, including pre-medications and hypersensitivity reactions.
  • Provide education and resource support, including Epic system expertise for therapy plan design.
  • Participate in transfers of care and communicate with referring providers when necessary.
  • Remain on-site during 10-hour shifts for the four-day workweek; schedule non-work appointments on days off.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience in infusion care preferred.
  • Proficiency with Epic or similar systems preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to fifty pounds.
  • Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols.
Job Eligibility Requirements
Education
  • Nurse Practitioners: Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Physician Assistants: Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred, from an accredited program.
Certifications
  • ACLS certification (may be obtained during onboarding).
  • BLS certification.
Licenses
  • Nurse Practitioners: Current RN licensure and NP certification in North Carolina; BLS required.
  • Physician Assistants: NC license, NCCPA certification, BLS required.
  • DEA license required.
Experience
  • At least 1 year of APP experience preferred.
Job Hours
  • Monday-Friday, four days/week, starting at 7:40 am, ending when the clinic closes or last patient is seen. Schedule varies, with potential Saturday shifts every 8 weeks for additional pay.
