Job summary

Metro Infusion Center in Birmingham, AL, seeks a PA or Nurse Practitioner to collaborate with a physician in an active inpatient and outpatient practice. You will diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions, prescribe medications, and monitor responses to therapies.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited school, an AL PA or AL NP license, and at least two years of infectious disease experience, along with required vaccinations.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school.
• Current AL PA license or AL NP license.
• Two years’ experience, preferably in an infectious disease field.
• Proof of required vaccinations (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A/B, influenza, COVID-19).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physician in active inpatient and outpatient practice to deliver health care.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic health problems.
• Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic treatment and monitor interventions.
• Order, interpret, and perform laboratory and radiology tests.
• Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, as delegated.
• Perform other therapeutic or corrective measures as indicated.

Location

Birmingham, AL (providing local hospital support at St Vincent East, Brookwood, and Grandview)

Schedule

Full-Time (Monday-Friday) + One Weekend/Month

Specific Duties

1. Will work with the collaborating physician in an active inpatient and outpatient practice to deliver health care services to our patients.
2. Diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health problems.
3. Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic treatment.
4. Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
5. Ordering, interpreting and performing laboratory and radiology tests.
6. Prescribing medications, including controlled substances, to the extent delegated.
7. Performing other therapeutic or corrective measures as indicated.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school
• Current AL PA license or AL NP license
• Two years’ experience, preferably in an infectious disease field.
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19.
