Job summary

Decatur Morgan Hospital in Decatur, AL is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join an active inpatient and outpatient infectious disease practice. You will collaborate with a physician to diagnose, treat, and manage health issues for patients, including prescribing medications and interpreting tests.

Schedule is 2 Sundays per month, with competitive pay and benefits. Requires graduation from an accredited school, current AL PA or AL NP license, and at least two years’

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school.
• Current AL PA license or AL NP license.
• Two years’ experience in infectious disease.
• Proof of required vaccinations for immunocompromised patients.

Responsibilities

• Will work with the collaborating physician in an active inpatient and outpatient practice to deliver health care services to our patients.
• Diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health problems.
• Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic treatment.
• Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
• Ordering, interpreting and performing laboratory and radiology tests.
• Prescribing medications, including controlled substances, to the extent delegated.
• Performing other therapeutic or corrective measures as indicated.

Specific Duties

• Graduation from an accredited school
• Current AL PA license or AL NP license
• Two years’ experience, preferably in an infectious disease field.
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19.
