Job summary

Texas Health Plano is seeking a Physician Assistant in Neurosurgery/Neuro IR to join a fellowship-trained team delivering brain, spine, and interventional radiology care. This full-time role features 4 ten-hour days with rotating weekend coverage and a strong emphasis on patient-centered coordination.

Responsibilities include detailed documentation in the EHR, collaboration with surgeons and rehab teams, adherence to safety standards, and performing procedures within scope of training.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA accredited PA program.
• Current Texas PA license upon hire.
• ACLS and BCLS certifications required.
• NCCPA certification preferred.
• Neurosurgery/Neuro IR experience preferred.
• 1 year Neurosurgery/Neuro IR strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Documents actions, assessments, progress notes and plans in the EHR using approved protocols.
• Contributes to positive patient experience through effective communication and coordination with the multidisciplinary care team.
• Meets regulatory requirements, safety standards, and analyzes performance for fiscally sound decisions.
• Performs clinical procedures authorized by the physician within scope of training.

Work Hours: Full Time, 40 Hours, 4 10 hour days with rotating weekend coverage

Neuro Department Highlights

• Fellowship trained Neurosurgeons and Neuro Interventional Radiologists

• Neuro Trauma, Elective Spine, Neuro Interventional Radiology and Brain Surgical cases

Here’s What You Need

• Graduate of an AMA accredited Physician Assistant program required
• 3 years of experience as a Physician Assistant preferred
• 1 year of experience in Neurosurgery/Neuro IR strongly preferred
• PA - Physician Assistant
• Current State of Texas PA license upon hire required and
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days required and
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and
• Other - NCCPA upon hire preferred
• Other - must be credentialed by Medical Staff Service upon hire required

• Documents actions, assessments, progress notes and plans in the EHR utilizing approved protocols, order sets and navigators as appropriate; addresses medication reconciliation.
• Contributes to positive patient experience through effective patient communication and focus on coordination and communication with the multidisciplianry care team; works with varied Patient Experience Teams providing feedback and ideas.
• Meets/performs regulatory requirements, NPSGs, clinical and other KPls, safety standards; analyzes performance; demonstrates fiscally sound decisions.
• Performs clinical procedures authorized by the physician within scope of training and medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations
