Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our clinical team in Illinois. You will assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans, collaborating with physicians and other care professionals to deliver high-quality care. You will promote health, manage care, document in the EMR, and participate in quality initiatives.

Illinois license, NCCPA certification, DEA registration, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP are required or obtained within six months. No experience is required.

Qualifications

  • Active PA license(s) in state(s) of practice.
  • National board certification from NCCPA.
  • Active DEA registration prior to hire.
  • Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire (if Illinois practice).
  • BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, diagnoses, and determines treatment plans; orders and interprets diagnostic studies and prescribes interventions.
  • Manages conditions based on evidence-based care, risks/benefits and alternatives.
  • Provides health promotion, disease prevention and counseling for patients and families.
  • Collaborates in an interdisciplinary team; escalates care when necessary.
  • Maintains timely documentation in the EMR and compliant coding/billing.
  • Facilitates coordinated care and communication among health team and community agencies.
  • Performs procedures per specialty privileges where applicable.
  • Participates in quality, safety, and peer review initiatives and meetings.
  • Educates/new team members and seeks ongoing professional development.
  • Maintains productivity, access, and quality metrics for safe patient care.
  • Demonstrates age-appropriate care and assessment per department standards.
