Job summary

Evening or weekend work may be required based on department needs, with on-call responsibilities for the supervising physician and ongoing patient education. Candidates must hold California PA licensure, national certification, BLS, and an ARC-PA

Qualifications

• Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program by start date.
• California Physician Assistant License required at hire.
• Physician Assistant National Certification required at hire.
• Basic Life Support
• National Provider Identifier required at hire.
• Fluoroscopy Permit required, or must be obtained within 18 months from hire in specific departments.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, efficient, team based patient focused care under supervision.
• Manage patients in the office, hospital, ED and perioperative settings.
• First assist in the OR or perform department-specific procedures as applicable.
• Facilitate on call responsibilities for supervising physician.
• Develop and implement patient management plans and record progress notes.
• Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed regimens and health maintenance.
• Assist in post-operative orders and discharge planning; monitor patient status during recovery.
