Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in California seeks a Senior Physician Assistant to provide high-quality, team-based, patient-focused care across office, hospital, ED, and perioperative settings. The role may require first assist in the OR and perioperative procedures, with potential on-call duties and variable hours.

Ideal candidates have ARC-PA accredited PA education, California PA license, and NPI/CNP certification, plus BLS. Prior OR assistance and fluoroscopy capability are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years previous experience as a physician assistant in the last five (5) years.

Responsibilities

• Practice as part of a team under the direction of a supervising physician.
• Exams and evaluates patients; orders and interprets tests; develops management plans.
• Performs or assists in procedures including first assist in surgeries; perioperative care.
• Instructs patients on regimens, growth, development, and health maintenance.
• Participates in admissions, transfers, discharges; rounds on inpatients.
• Provides education to patients and families; coordinates care transitions.
• May mentor less experienced PAs and collaborate on performance improvement.
