Job summary

Premise Health is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to provide care at our Winchester, VA Health Center. You will conduct exams, develop care plans, and coordinate treatment with physicians. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with no on-call or weekend shifts.

This role requires current NCCPA certification, an ARC-PA accredited degree, and licensure/DEA as applicable in Virginia. You will document care, educate patients, order tests, and refer to specialists as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires current NCCPA national certification.
• Degree from an ARC-PA accredited program.
• Federal DEA license (as required in your state).
• State license(s) to practice medicine and any required narcotics/controlled substance credentials.

Responsibilities

• Conducts physical exams and preventive health measures per guidelines and approved agreements.
• Develops patient care plans, records progress, and ensures continuity of care.
• Educates patients on treatment plans, health maintenance, and development.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to assess clinical conditions.
• Collaborates with physicians and healthcare teams for comprehensive care.
• Prescribes or recommends treatments, including medications and therapies.
• Maintains patient health records with accurate documentation.

As a Full Time Physician Assistant, you'll provide care to client employees in our Health Center located in Winchester, VA. The scheduled hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30a - 5:00p. No On-Call, No Weekends!

What You’ll Do

• Conducts physical exams and preventive health measures per guidelines and approved agreements.
• Performs procedures such as injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
• Develops patient care plans, records progress, and ensures continuity of care.
• Educates patients on treatment plans, health maintenance, growth and development.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to assess clinical conditions.
• Collaborates with physicians and healthcare teams for comprehensive care.
• Prescribes or recommends treatments, including medications and therapies.
• Refers patients to specialists or physicians as needed.
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation and records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• Maintains state licenses/certifications to practice.
• Maintains Board of Pharmacy Prescribing License (if applicable).
• Current NCCPA national certification required.
• Degree from ARC-PA accredited program.
• Federal DEA license (matching each state of practice as applicable).
• State Narcotic/Controlled Substance license if required in your state (Alabama, Connecticut, DC, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming, Puerto Rico) (New York ROPES registration).
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services.
• At least three years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in an ambulatory care, occupational health, family practice or emergency department setting.
