The University of Utah Health Sciences' Colon and Rectal Surgery section seeks an Advanced Practice Clinician (PA or NP) to join a team of six surgeons and one APC. Most duties are in the inpatient setting with some outpatient work, providing patient-centered care across surgical services.
Inpatient responsibilities include daily rounds, coordinating discharge planning, and completing medical documentation in collaboration with the surgical team.

The section of Colon and Rectal Surgery is seeking an additional Advanced Practice Clinician at the Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner level.

The candidate will be joining a group of six surgeons and one APC . While the majority of this role is expected to be in the inpatient setting, some outpatient work may be required.
Inpatient care responsibilities include rounding and managing patients on the surgical floor in coordination with the surgical team including attending surgeons, fellows, residents, and medical students. Specific tasks include but are not limited to: daily inpatient rounds, responding to nursing pages and concerns, coordinating discharge planning with case management staff, and completing required medical documentation.
Outpatient clinic responsibilities include the evaluation and management of new and established patients within the specialty of colon and rectal surgery. Specific possibilities for clinics include but are not limited to colorectal cancer surveillance, anal dysplasia, and the management of benign anorectal conditions. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: addressing outpatient questions/ concerns and coordinating outpatient care with other specialists.
This candidate for this position will also assist in the design and implementation of care pathways for both inpatient and outpatient encounters specific to their services. Opportunities exist for involvement in the education of PS and medical students. There are also options for research and administrative responsibilities.
