Assists the physician in the assessment and treatment of patients. Obtains medical histories, performs physical examinations, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, and determines preliminary diagnoses. May provide care in a specialty area such as surgery, cardiology, orthopedics, etc.

Physician Assistant - Telehealth Position

Position Overview

• Provides medical care under the direction of the medical director and/or staff physician.
• Conducts patient assessments via telemedicine in an office-based setting.
• Supports Montefiore Medical Group providers in baskets.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in a telemedicine model.
• Review patient messages and perform remote triage.
• Prioritize care based on clinical urgency.
• Document all patient-related work in Epic EMR.
• Order and interpret diagnostic procedures and lab data within scope of privileges.
• Monitor patients' medical conditions throughout treatment.
• Determine appropriate level of care (self-care, in-person or video visit, immediate attention).

Telehealth Duties

• Conduct telemedicine visits for chronic primary care and acute needs.
• Make treatment decisions within scope of privileges.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of post-training practice experience as a Physician Assistant.
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
