Job summary

Premise Health is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to care for client employees and dependents at our Maryville, TN Health Center. Pediatrics experience preferred. The schedule is 32 hours per week, Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri 8:00a–5:00p with on-call 2x per year.

Qualifications

• Active licenses and certifications to practice.
• NCCPA certification current.
• Degree from ARC-PA accredited program.
• DEA license valid for practice.
• State narcotics/controlled substance license if required.
• BLS certification (ACLS may be required).

Responsibilities

• Conducts physical exams and preventive health measures per guidelines.
• Performs injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
• Develops patient care plans and records progress.
• Educates patients on treatment plans and health maintenance.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to assess conditions.
• Collaborates with physicians and healthcare teams for care.
• Prescribes or recommends treatments and therapies.
• Refers patients to specialists as needed.
• Maintains patient health records for accurate documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

ARC-PA accredited program degree

Current NCCPA national certification

Federal DEA license

State Narcotic/Controlled Substance license if required

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

What You’ll Do

• Conducts physical exams and preventive health measures per guidelines and approved agreements.
• Performs procedures such as injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
• Develops patient care plans, records progress, and ensures continuity of care.
• Educates patients on treatment plans, health maintenance, growth and development.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to assess clinical conditions.
• Collaborates with physicians and healthcare teams for comprehensive care.
• Prescribes or recommends treatments, including medications and therapies.
• Refers patients to specialists or physicians as needed.
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation and records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• Maintains state licenses/certifications to practice.
• Maintains Board of Pharmacy Prescribing License (if applicable).
• Current NCCPA national certification required.
• Degree from ARC-PA accredited program.
• Federal DEA license (matching each state of practice as applicable).
• State Narcotic/Controlled Substance license if required in your state (Alabama, Connecticut, DC, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming, Puerto Rico) (New York ROPES registration).
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services.
