Job summary

Chestnut Health Company in Missouri is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our Physiatry team. You will collaborate with therapists, nurses, and physicians to develop comprehensive rehabilitation plans and help patients regain function and independence.

The role requires MO licensure, NCCPA certification, and DEA/CS licenses on start. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical/dental, PTO, CME allowance, malpractice insurance, 401(k), and no after-hours calls.

Qualifications

• Active medical license to practice in the state of employment (Missouri).
• Current Controlled Substance License (required on start date).
• Current DEA License (required on start date).
• NCCPA Certification (required).
• Desire to work in Physiatry/PM&R.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and other health professionals to develop rehabilitation plans.
• Conduct patient assessments, histories, exams, and diagnostic evaluations to set rehab goals.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans to maximize outcomes and independence.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and educational activities to enhance skills.
• Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, plans, progress, and discharge summaries in EMR.
• Educate patients and families about rehabilitation process, outcomes, and post-discharge care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients with diverse rehabilitation needs
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations, to determine appropriate rehabilitation goals and interventions
• Monitor patient progress closely and adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimize functional outcomes and promote independence
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and educational activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of initial evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in electronic medical records systems
• Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding the rehabilitation process, expected outcomes, and post-discharge care

• Orthopedic Experience (nice to have)
