Job summary

Mission Mobile Medical Group seeks a Physician Assistant to join the Mobile Health Program in Gilroy, CA. You will deliver primary care on wheels, collaborating with supervising physicians to bring essential services directly to the community.

Responsibilities include exams, chronic disease management, histories, and EHR documentation, with an emphasis on access, preventive care, and community outreach. This is 100% onsite and travel with the mobile clinic team.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program with NCCPA certification.
• Licensed or eligible for California PA licensure with a collaborative practice agreement in place.
• Experience in primary care or community health is preferred.
• Bi-lingual abilities are preferred.

• Provide primary care services including exams, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses.
• Conduct patient histories, physical exams, and order/interpret diagnostic tests.
• Develop and manage treatment plans for chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.

General Tasks

• Primary Care Services: Conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, and provide routine primary care to improve patient health outcomes.
• Patient Assessments: Take medical histories, perform physical examinations, and order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Chronic Disease Management: Develop and manage treatment plans for chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Administrative Duties: Include but not limited to assisting with opening/closing the clinic, inventory, patient follow-up, verifying insurance, collecting payment, scheduling appointments, and maintaining a clean environment.
• Preventive Care: Administer vaccinations, conduct health screenings, and educate patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyles.
• Collaborate: Work with supervising physicians, nurses, and medical assistants to deliver comprehensive care.

• Community Outreach: Participate in outreach activities to raise awareness about the mobile clinic’s services and engage with the community.
• Actively participating in leadership-level planning for the best growth opportunities.

• Education:
• Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program, with current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.
• Currently licensed or eligible for California PA licensure, with a collaborative practice agreement in place

Experience

• Clinical experience in primary care or community health preferred
• Experience with EHR preferred
• Bi-lingual preferred

Work Environment

100% Onsite – PA is expected to travel with the mobile clinic team to nearby mobile health locations. This role is based out of Gilroy, CA.

• 80 PTO hours available after the first 60 days of service
