Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care in Central Indiana is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide broad clinical services for patients of all ages in urgent care settings.

You will work independently or with a physician, performing exams, ordering tests, diagnosing conditions, and treating acute episodic illnesses while ensuring patient safety and quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed PA in urgent care or emergency medicine.
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patients.
• Proficient in interpreting ECGs and X-rays.
• Master's degree from an accredited PA program and NCCPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams and review patient medical histories.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Diagnose conditions and prescribe treatments.
• Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, casting.
• Document encounters and treatment plans in the EMR.
• Educate patients on care and prevention.

About the Role

As a Physician Assistant (PA) , you will provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages. You'll treat acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. You'll work independently or alongside a physician, using your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, while recognizing when to elevate care to emergency services.

Essential Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams and review patient medical histories
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
• Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medications
• Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting
• Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR
• Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention
• Administer vaccinations and refer patients to specialists as needed
• Work scheduled shifts of hours as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed NP or PA in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting (required)
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (required)
• Comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, casting, and splinting (required)
• Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays (required)

Physician Assistants:

• Master's degree from an accredited PA program (required)
• NCCPA Certification (required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
• Multilingual communication skills
• Familiarity with telemedicine platforms
• Basic understanding of medical billing and coding
