Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis is seeking a board-certified Physician Advisor to join the leadership team on-site in Memphis, TN. You will influence utilization management, documentation integrity, and physician education to improve patient care and hospital performance.

This full-time role requires proven hospital leadership, a medical degree (MD/DO), and a strong data-driven approach. You will chair committees, mentor clinicians, and collaborate with CDI/HIM and administration.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with board certification and active hospital leadership experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a hospital setting.
• Strong communication skills and peer respect.
• Data-driven with measurable impact on patient outcomes.
• Willingness to be on-site full-time in Memphis.

Responsibilities

• Review cases for appropriate Level of Care and monitor observation stays.
• Educate physicians and committees on utilization and documentation best practices.
• Lead daily huddles, complex case conferences, and peer education.
• Chair the Utilization Management Committee quarterly.
• Manage payer denials, including peer-to-peer reviews.
• Partner with CDI/HIM teams to improve documentation quality.
• Partner with administration in reducing financial risks from denials and extended stays.
